In September, 1958, the Class of 1963 entered Ironton High School as "Peanuts". The candle which was to guide us through the halls of Ironton High School and all the wonders that awaited us, had just begun to burn.
Our candle burned and, at last, we were a real part...

Thomas Carl Caskey
March 18, 1943 ~ December 21, 2007
"Class Of 1963"
- Thomas Carl Caskey, 64, of 701 West Perry Street, Bucyrus, Ohio, died in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, from an extended illness.
- Born in Springfield, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold and Wilmetta (Gard) Caskey.
- He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Irene (Elkins) Caskey, whom he married September 15, 1972. Other survivors include a son, Mark Bailes; daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Helms, all of Nettie, West Virginia; daughter Jeanie Johnson of North Carolina; daughter Lori Solze and friend Ron Kilgore of Bucyrus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara (Butch) Voss of Bucyrus, Ohio and Verdie (Kenneth) Cramer of Cleveland, Ohio.
- He is preceded in death by a brother William Caskey.
- Tom moved to Bucyrus in 1999 from Cleveland where he worked for 22 years for Emery Worldwide. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army for seven years. Tom was a member of Christ Gospel Church of Bucyrus, enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and, especially, spending time with his grandchildren.
- Calling hours were Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services were held Thursday December 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Hager officiating. Burial with military honors was provided by the Bucyrus American Legion Post #181 with internment in the Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
