In September, 1958, the Class of 1963 entered Ironton High School as "Peanuts". The candle which was to guide us through the halls of Ironton High School and all the wonders that awaited us, had just begun to burn.

Merilynn Sue (Berger) Cyrus
July 16, 1945 ~ December 1, 2013
"Class Of 1963"
 - Merilynn Sue Cyrus, 68, wife of Michael Drury Cyrus, of Ladson, South Carolina passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Summerville Medical Center in Summerville, South Carolina.
- Merilynn was born on July 16, 1945 in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of Carl Henry Berger and Evelyn Hart Berger. She was a homemaker. She was the loving wife of Michael Drury Cyrus of Ladson, South Carolina; and the beloved mother of Michael Duane Cyrus of Ladson, South Carolina and Melynda Sue Orcutt (Michael) of San Jose, California.
- She also leaves behind one brother, Carl Walter Berger, of Ironton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Adam Pipes, Lorynn Cyrus, Jonathan Orcutt, Pearson Orcutt; two foster children, Carl Ellis and Valerie White, and 24 additional foster children.
- Visitation for her family and friends was held at Parks Funeral Home on Thursday evening between 6 and 8 o'clock.
- Funeral services were held at Parks Funeral Home on Friday morning, December 6, 2013 at 11 o'clock followed by a private burial.
