WELCOME
CLASS OF '63
In September, 1958, the Class of 1963 entered Ironton High School as "Peanuts". The candle which was to guide us through the halls of Ironton High School and all the wonders that awaited us, had just begun to burn.
Our candle burned and, at last, we were a real part...

Biography - Richard Gillenwater
- Hello. My name is Richard Gillenwater.
- You may remember me from Lombard Elementary School or later at Ironton High especially if you took Commercial Courses and were in any of my classes like Shorthand or Bookkeeping.
- Fortunately, the high school curriculum I choose helped me to begin my working career with the Ironton Tribune. Later, I worked for Allied Chemical at South Point and, when it closed, Alpha Portland Cement Company in Ironton. After Alpha closed, I was hired by US Steel which later became Aristech Chemical at Haverhill, Ohio from where I, ultimately, retired.
- I am a widower. My blessed wife, Margie and I had one beautiful daughter, Rhonda Lynn Holbrook who lives in Marysville, Ohio and works in nearby Hilliard. She is married and has given me four wonderful grandchildren - Derik, Kayla, Ryan and Ashley.
- Although I had lived and worked in Lawrence County all my life, Margie and I decided to relocate closer to our daughter and grandchildren. After my retirement, we moved to Richwood, Ohio where I currently reside.
