WELCOME
CLASS OF '63
In September, 1958, the Class of 1963 entered Ironton High School as "Peanuts". The candle which was to guide us through the halls of Ironton High School and all the wonders that awaited us, had just begun to burn.
Our candle burned and, at last, we were a real part...

- Greetings. My name is Dean Griffith
- If you are reading this, we may have gone to Ironton High School and Campbell Elementary school together many, many years ago.
- A lot of water has run under the old Ironton-Russell Bridge since then.
- I have been married to my wife, Carol, for over 25 years and have 3 children. We have somewhere between 4 and 8 grandchildren depending on how you count a blended family like ours. Our kids are scattered across the country from Cincinnati to Dallas to Los Angles
- After IHS, I went to college, working my way through night school after Dad came down with Alzheimer’s. Eventually, I went to grad school at the University of Arizona and Seminary in Chicago at the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. I returned to Cincinnati where I completed more graduate work at the University of Cincinnati.
- I celebrated 30 years of ordained ministry in 2009.
- Now that I’m finally retired, I am looking forward to a move to New Mexico some time in 2013. We want to live about halfway between our two daughters and grandchildren who reside in Dallas and LA.
- Oh, yes. Along the way, I managed to serve 23 years in reserve components of the United States Army, retiring in '93 as chaplain.
- I love hearing from old friends and classmates so email me at
DEAN `63 or "friend" me on Facebook
so we can reminisce and stay in touch
- I am so looking forward to our 50th class reunion. Hope to see you there.
- Dean
