WELCOME
CLASS OF '63
In September, 1958, the Class of 1963 entered Ironton High School as "Peanuts". The candle which was to guide us through the halls of Ironton High School and all the wonders that awaited us, had just begun to burn.
Our candle burned and, at last, we were a real part...

- Hello!
- My name is Barbara Champer-Cook. When we went to Campbell Grade School and Ironton High School together, you would have known me as Bobbie Champer
- I didn't move far away from Ironton choosing to stay close to my parents, Paul and Carol and my brother Stan. If you remember, my dad was the photographer at Morris Studio and the first Ironton High School Band Booster president. I still have the award presented by Ralph Falls honoring him for this.
- I retired from Whayne Supply Company. I began working there ordering parts for customers and was promoted to parts sales. I am proud to say that I was the first woman in the 9 branches to do this.
- I met my husband Carl while working at Whayne Supply.
- All of my children have paws! Our three dogs are Casey, the Irish Setter and two Schnauzers, Blackie and Mady. In addition, we have two cats named Fox and Spooky.
"All of my children have paws!"
~Bobbie
- My passions are centered on AARF (Ashland Animal Rescue Fund) and the Boyd County Shelter...with a smidgen of politics thrown in for good measure. AARF is an active group of volunteers dedicated to reducing the number of euthanized cats and dogs in the Ashland, Kentucky area. Through generous public donations, we are able to find safe places for the animals before their "forever" homes are located and the animal is adopted. I have been rewarded with immense satisfaction knowing we have saved the lives of several dogs and cats.
- I love hearing from old friends and classmates so email me at
BOBBIE `63 or visit me on Facebook at so we can stay in touch.
- I am looking "forward" to our 50th class reunion. Hope to see you there.
- ~Bobbie
